The Mu’ugalavyáni General, Lord Mi’itlénish, contemplates the siege of Purdimál during the war of 2020. The officer on the left wears the typical Mu”ugalavyáni ‘cookpot’ helmet, with ear-flaps of Chlén-hide. The messenger on the right is bareheaded and has his hair cut in the prevailing fashion of western Mu’ugalavyá. He has the fearsome two-handed broadsword of N’ylüss slung across his back. After a siege of seven months the city fell to the invaders, but Mi’itlénish had already moved the larger part of his troops south to invest Béy Sü.
